Zags stay at No. 2 behind Baylor in latest AP poll

SPOKANE, Wash. — Baylor remains atop The Associated Press men’s college basketball poll in a largely static week among in the top 10. The Bears received 48 of 64 first-place votes from a media panel to stay at No. 1 for the fourth straight week. No. 2 Gonzaga had 15 first-place votes and No. 3 Kansas one.

San Diego State and Louisville rounded out the top five.

Seton Hall was the only change among the top 10 after moving up two spots to No. 10.

Preseason No. 1 Michigan State dropped out of the rankings from No. 16 following a three-game losing streak.

The Zags beat St. Mary’s on Saturday, shooting just over 68 percent from the floor. Killian Tillie returned to the court after missing two games due to a left ankle sprain and scored 19 points for the Zags, helping them earn a 90-60 victory over the Gaels.

Freshman Drew Timme earned a team-high and new career-high 20 points on 7-of-8 shooting, while Filip Petrusev earned his seventh double-double of the season.

The Zags head back to California on Saturday to play Pepperdine at 7 p.m.
