Zags’ Demitrius Kigeya named to preseason All-WCC team
SPOKANE, Wash. — Gonzaga men’s soccer player Demitrius Kigeya has been named preseason All-WCC this season.
A program-record fourth time as a preseason All-WCC team member, Kigeya scored five goals and added three assists in 16 games. Taking 26 shots last season, 15 of them were on goal.
The senior from Madison, Wisconsin, was on the second team All-conference for the past two seasons.
The All-WCC team was selected by the eight coaches part of the conference. Coaches cannot vote on their own players for the team. Kigeya is one of the five people selected to repeat as a preseason All-WCC team member.
According to the league coaches poll, the Zags are ranked No. 8 out of the eight teams in the league. Portland is the No. 1 team in the preseason poll.
The Zags begin regular season play at Denver on August 15. They will have two exhibition games in Spokane against Seattle University and Carroll College on August 14 and August 21.
