Zag Mania Game Plan Friday: getting ready for Baylor
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — Any first-round butterflies were shaken off quickly in Gonzaga’s 38-point rout of Fairleigh Dickinson last night, now they have a day to switch their focus to the ninth-seeded Baylor Bears. Here’s their Game Plan for the day.
1. ) Closed practice
Unlike Wednesday, when the Zags had at least one of their practices open to the public, this one will be closed so they’re actually able to focus on some of their scout on the floor at Vivint Smart Arena.
2. ) Film and Treatment
The coaches surely watched some of No. 9 Baylor’s upset over No. 8 Syracuse, but the team will be watching film on the Bears and their tendencies. It’s a short turnaround for both teams. Treatment will be key to maintaining health in this entire tournament, which is really the first key for any team wanting to make a deep run.
3. ) Enter Sandman
It’s one of Metallica’s greatest hits. It’s also what the Zags need tonight (sleep) to be at full strength tomorrow. The good thing for the Bulldogs is that Baylor had to play the Orange down the wire, whereas Gonzaga could pull their starters early after building a huge lead.
