Zag fans stock up on Bulldog gear ahead of championship game
SPOKANE, Wash. — Gonzaga fans ease their nerves and excitement for the championship game with a dose of retail therapy.
Zag fans, students and alumni spent Sunday picking up new shirts, basketballs, stickers and other merchandise at the GU campus bookstore.
“It’s crazy,” said Annelise Charon, a lifelong Zag fan.
“It’s just craziness around here. Everyone wants their Gonzaga stuff,” she added
Some shoppers picked up gear for family living across the country.
“I’m getting stuff for my mom, my step dad, my mother in law and my two nieces, ” said Lea Conner, a Gonzaga Law School alumna.
“Suddenly I’m here with the whole entire city,” she added.
The GU campus bookstore will not get another shipment of shirts until Tuesday. Store staff and fans are confident those new shirts will be championship gear.
“It’s definitely been a roller coaster with this tournament but I think we can take it this year for sure,” said Amelia Wright, a GU student.
