YWCA raises $306,000 for domestic violence victims

YWCA Spokane raised $306,000 at their 35th Annual Women of Achievement Luncheon to benefit victims of domestic violence.

The luncheon, held on Thursday, September 28, was sponsored by over 50 companies and organizations, and more than 1,000 guests registered to attend.

“The money raised at this luncheon has benefited the YWCA Spokane’s services for domestic violence victims and their children,” says Regina Malveaux, Chief Executive Officer of YWCA Spokane. “It has evolved into our biggest fundraising event.

The luncheon’s keynote speaker was Janine Latus, who is the author of the New York Times bestselling memories If I Am Missing or Dead, about her sister’s death by domestic violence.

“We are grateful for the community supporters who show up for the YWCA Spokane year after year,” says Malveaux. “We want to thank the table captains, companies and organizations that make this event a reality. We couldn’t do our work without you.”
