You can now live in the historic Ridpath hotel

If you’re looking for affordable housing, and living in the heart of downtown sounds appealing to you, you might be able to call the old Ridpath Hotel your new home!

The historic hotel sat vacant for almost a decade, until the Spokane City Council approved a nearly $2 million line of credit to revamp the old building.

“It just needed to be saved. It needed to be restored, renovated, brought to life, brought back to current livability standards,” said investor Ron Wells back in November.

And today, those things have been accomplished.

The building has been under development for the past several months and is now leasing living space under the new name, The Ridpath Club Apartments.

It has 206 units, many of them called ‘microapartments,’ that are designed, and priced, for young professionals who make less than $30,000 per year.

Those who qualify for the ‘affordable’ rate category could lease a micro unit, or a studio apartment, for under $700 a month.

A Facebook post here explains that every living space being leased was once a room in the historic Ridpath hotel.
