WSU linebacker Daiyan Henley named to Butkus Award Watch List

PULLMAN, Wash. — WSU linebacker Daiyan Henley has been named to the 2022 Butkus Award Watch List.
The award is given to the best linebacker in college football. Henley is one of 51 people named to the list and is the first Cougar since Jahad Woods to be named to the list in the 2020 season.
Henley is a transfer from the University of Nevada, where he earned All-Mountain West Conference second-team honors in the 2021 season. Henley racked up 103 tackles and four interceptions last season, adding three fumble recoveries and five games where he racked up double-digit tackles.

The award honors famous linebacker Dick Butkus for his season in 1985.
The winner is selected by a group of football talent selection efforts. A group of semi-finalists will be announced in November.
