PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State Cougars basketball will face on of the best teams in the country this winter.

As part of the second-annual Pac-12 US LBM Coast-to-Coast Challenge, the Pac-12 announced that WSU will face off against the Baylor Bears in a quadruple-header.

This will be the fifth time the two teams will match up, with WSU having the 3-1 advantage in the series. The two teams last played against each other in 2010 at the Diamond Head Classic in Hawaii, winning 77-71.

“Playing Baylor this season gives us an incredible opportunity to see where our program rates against one of the best programs in the country,” WSU Head Coach Kyle Smith said. “Baylor has championship DNA and NBA talent all over their roster. It’s a testament to the growth of our program that we are even considered for the event.”

The Pac-12 coast-to-coast challenge will have four games in total — two women’s games and two men’s games. The games include Stanford men’s basketball against the University of Texas, USC women’s basketball against Texas, Arizona women’s basketball against Baylor and WSU vs Baylor.

Five of the eight teams in the challenge played in the post season in 2021.

All games will be televised on ESPN networks. All games will be played at the American Airlines Center in Dallas.

The game between WSU and Baylor is scheduled to start at 7 p.m on December 18. Tickets will become available to the general public on August 5.
