WSP searching for hit-and-run driver who struck 14-year-old boy

GRANT CO., Wash. – The Washington State Patrol is searching for the driver who hit a 14-year-old boy walking south of Mattawa early Wednesday morning. 

The hit-and-run happened around 3:50 a.m. on State Route 243 near the Columbia Boulevard intersection. Troopers say the driver struck the boy and left the scene heading southbound. 

WSP said the suspect vehicle is believed to be an older model silver Chevrolet Cavalier. It is believed to have damage to the front and passenger side mirror.

The boy was taken to the hospital with severe injuries.
