Woman rescued from river, taken to hospital

Around 6 p.m., the Technical Rescue Team with the Spokane Fire Department rescued a woman from the river near Peaceful Valley.

The Spokane Police Department assisted with the rescue.

According to firefighters, a witness saw the woman go into the river, wade around for a bit, then walk downstream and hang onto a log.

The woman is being taken to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
