Woman involved in alleged baby kidnapping plot pleads not guilty
PIERCE CO., Wash. — A woman accused of drugging a woman and attempting to kidnap her baby pleaded not guilty.
According to KOMO-TV, Juliette Parker, 38, entered the plea in Pierce County Superior Court on Tuesday.
The judge raised her bail from $50,000 to $150,000 over concerns of the safety and security of the children possibly involved in the case. KOMO-TV says that Parker was re-booked into the Pierce County Jail.
Parker previously posted bail on Sunday.
The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office reported that Parker tried to lure a new mom posing as a baby photographer, before drugging her and attempting to steal her baby. The Sheriff’s Office was first made aware of the kidnapping plot when police were called by a mother who believed she was drugged by another woman.
According to KOMO-TV, the alleged victim read a statement about what happened, saying that doctors believed she had been poisoned with the date-rape drug GHB.
Court documents say that Parker asked a man she had previously dated if he could get her a sample of GHB, so that she could use it to take a baby and raise it as her own. Parker allegedly told the man that she knew where to get the baby, and referred specifically to kidnapping.
