Woman found dead in reported shooting in Hillyard
Spokane Police took a man covered in blood into custody in connection to the shooting
SPOKANE, Wash.– Spokane Police found a woman dead in a Hillyard apartment complex on Thursday and took a man who they say was covered in blood into custody a short time later.
SPD responded to N. Haven St. and E. Diamond Ave. at about 5:30 a.m., following a call of shots fired. Officers found the woman dead when they arrived, along with a baby who they say was uninjured.
Officers located a man they described as a person of interest in the case. They are trying to determine what led up to the woman’s death.
SPD’s Major Crimes Unit is blocking off the 2900 block of E. Diamond Ave. during its investigation.
