Woman dies from injuries sustained in crash on Idaho State Highway 54
ATHOL, Idaho — A 68-year-old Idaho woman died Wednesday morning from injuries sustained in a head-on collision on Idaho State Highway 54 east of Athol last week.
Lawana J. Holden, of Athol, was pronounced dead at 2:44 a.m. Wednesday at Kootenai Health in Coeur d’Alene. Holden was injured in the evening of Friday, Feb. 23, after her car was struck head-on at milepost 9.1 of SH54.
74-year-old Jeanne F. Wolcott, also of Athol, was driving eastbound in the westbound lanes of SH54 at 6:51 p.m. Friday when she struck Holden’s car. All three were transported to the hospital for their injuries.
Wolcott, Holden, and Wolcott’s passenger, 57-year-old Luella L. Wolf, of Sandpoint, were all wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
