William R. Keeton “Bill”
William R. Keeton “Bill” was born September 21, 1932 in Mobeetie, Texas. He lived and worked in the Texas Panhandle until age 17 when he joined the Air Force. Bill was in the Air Force for 21 years being stationed in France and England and back to the States before retiring in 1970. He then went to work for the State of Washington and retired from there in 1997 at the age of 65.
Bill passed away peacefully at Hospice House North Spokane on January 12, 2018. He is survived by his wife at the home, Joann, and by five children; Debra and Larry Fortress of Albuquerque, NM; Sherry and Jim Chavez of Albuquerque, NM; Bill Jr. and Wanda Keeton of Conroe, TX; Greg and Jennifer Keeton of Austin, TX; and Kenneth Keeton of Waco, TX. Bill is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and two sisters.
While working for the state, Bill moved to Usk, WA, where he lived for several years. In 2009 he sold his Usk property and moved to Mead, WA. He loved retirement and was a great musician, playing the guitar and singing country music with friends and family. He also loved fishing and was in the water as much as he could be and always had a “great fish story” to tell. He also loved watching the Mariners and Gonzaga basketball, he never missed a game.
Bill will always be loved and missed by family and friends. He is now resting in the arms of God. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 18th at 1 p.m. at Sherman-Campbell Funeral Home in Newport. Sherman-Campbell Funeral Home in Newport, WA is in charge of arrangements.
