Wife of trooper shot in the line of duty thanks the community for support
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — Lindsey Palmer, wife of Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Wade Palmer, has issued a statement thanking the community for the support while her husband goes through medical treatment.
Trooper Palmer was shot in the line of duty near the Montana town of Evaro Thursday night. He was airlifted to Salt Lake City Friday morning, where local law enforcement has gone above and beyond to make sure the Palmers have been supported.
The law enforcement community in Utah has been taking good care of Wade, his family and Cpt. Kitchin & Sgt. Finley who are with him in Salt Lake. There has been someone outside his room around the clock including his surgery room. #mtnews pic.twitter.com/CZuducoiBa

At last update, Trooper Palmer remains in critical condition. His family has chosen to keep his medical updates private but Lindsey said Monday she would like to thank “all of the caring people throughout the nation that have offered prayers and positive messages.”
Lindsey’s full statement is below:
“I want to extend my sincere gratitude to Montana and Utah for all of their support, and to all of the caring people throughout the nation that have offered prayers and positive messages.
To all the Brothers & Sisters in Blue, words cannot express the appreciation we have for all that you have done & for reaching out.
We are holding strong & the continued aid is greatly appreciated.
Knowing that our communities are coming together at our time of need is a great comfort. It gives us the ability to focus our attention on Wade & family which is the most important thing at this time.
