‘Who would do this to us?’ Spokane Valley mom wakes up to find vulgar words painted on her car

Spokane Valley mom says her car was vandalized

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — A Spokane Valley mom couldn’t believe her eyes when she stepped outside Thursday morning, only to see her car had been vandalized.

Melissa Paske says she was already running late to her appointment when she found three sides of her SUV, including the driver’s mirror, covered in orange spray paint and vulgar words.

“I couldn’t believe it,” siad Paske. “I was just shocked.”

Paske called the Sheriff’s office and filed a report. She says the vandalism happened early Thursday morning, likely around 2 a.m. when her Ring doorbell camera recorded motion outside her home near Eighth and Moen.

Paske took to Facebook in search of answers. Instead, she got a generous offer.

“I got a private message from Spokane Detail saying, ‘don’t try to do it, don’t try to take the paint off yourself,’” said Paske. “He’ll do it for free, you don’t have to worry about it.”

To avoid as much attention as possible, Paske drove her car once it got dark.

She says, while she can’t be certain who vandalized her car, she has her suspicions.

Paske says she’s offering a reward for information that leads to the person responsible.
