White Dog Coffee donating Friday proceeds to baristas, employees left ‘speechless’

SPOKANE, Wash.– Baristas working at White Dog Coffee in Spokane were left speechless when they found out the company’s owners were giving them all the proceeds made this Friday.

Rebecca Williams has been working for White Dog for about two years. She knew it was a special company from the start, but this recent announcement truly shocked her.White Dog Coffee Exterior With Black Car

“So many of us were just speechless. We didn’t have the words to even say thank you adequately,” Williams said. “Like, that is just such a big thing to do for two people that just own a small business to say all this hard work that you’ve been doing, here’s how we want to thank you.”

Owners Corey and Tori Shrock know how hard their baristas work at the three locations across the Spokane area.

“We just want them to feel loved,” Corey said.

They’ve been especially busy during the pandemic because they’ve been deemed an essential business.

“This is the one place people can come to and they can socialize and interact with us,” Williams said.

It’s about much more than getting a daily dose of caffeine, according to Williams. She said they have so many regulars that she cares about and she believes they are also invested in her life, too.

Williams expects to see lines of cars at all three locations Friday as people show up to support this cause.

“It’s a really special day tomorrow and we’re really excited,” Williams said.
