What you need to know before going to a Spokane Indians game

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — The Spokane Indians are playing their first game in more than a year on Tuesday. Baseball lovers were excited to be back at the ballpark and enjoy the game, even if it looks a little different.

The Spokane Indians are schedule to play 120 games this season with 60 at home at Avista Stadium.

When you do head to a game, they will require masks, asking anyone ages two and up to wear one. Masks can be taken off while eating or drinking in a seat.

The picnic tables will not be available for use at the First Pitch Pavilion this season.

Ordering a hot dog or some popcorn will be different this season, too. The stadium is asking people to order straight from their seat on their cell phone. This will help avoid lines and crowding. Once the food is ordered, fans won’t have to wait in line and can just go pick up food at the main stand.

Under phase three guidelines, 1,750 fans are allowed at the game. Tickets can be ordered for six people, then that group will be sitting in a pod, socially distanced throughout the ballpark.

Even though it won’t be exactly the same experience as it once was, fans can still enjoy America’s favorite past-time: Baseball.

“We’re excited. Everyone’s been working really hard to get to this point, even thinking where we were a year ago, not even having a season, just to have baseball back is a huge excitement for this community,” said John Collett, the director of public relations with the Spokane Indians.

All tickets will have to be bought online this season, as The Spokane Indians hopes to reduce any unnecessary touching. Click here for a list of their schedule and other rules.
