Wendover Campground closed for camping season
KAMIAH, Idaho — The Wendover Campground in the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests will be closed for the 2018 camping season due to hazardous trees within the campground.
During an annual hazard tree assessment, staff members determined many trees near campsites had become unstable due to a significant case of root rot. Because the hazard trees cannot be removed before the start of the camping season, officials made the decision to close the campground.
The Lochsa/Powell Ranger District expects the Wendover Campground to re-open for the 2019 camping season.
