Wednesday vigil to honor murdered Spokane mother

Kassie Dewey 2

SPOKANE, Wash. — Friends and family will join together Wednesday night to remember Kassie Dewey, a local woman who was murdered this week.

Dewey, a mother of three, was found dead in her own garage on Sunday. Her youngest daughter was almost killed and is fighting for her life after the attack.

Authorities have still not publicly identified the suspect in the case as he remains in the hospital and has not been booked into jail, but friends told 4 News Now they feared for Dewey’s safety in her most recent relationship.

Those attending Wednesday’s vigil are asked to offer a quiet reflection or tell stories and memories of Dewey. Candles will be lit in honor of her and those who would like to can bring a card for her family.

The vigil will be held at 7:30 p.m. in Franklin Park.
