Weather stays gorgeous and warm for Sunday – Matt
SPOKANE, Wash. — It’s weather on repeat for a while as we get a long string of beautiful and warm October days ahead.
What we’re tracking
High pressure is sitting over the Northwest and is going to stick around for the next eight to 10 days more or less. That means lots of sun and lots of warm temperatures.
The result of more warm and dry weather is that the wildfires in the Cascades are still actively burning. Winds will be out of the east this weekend which is a good way to keep air quality decent in Spokane and Coeur d’Alene. We’ll continue to see moderate or lower air quality at times this weekend near local fires.
Plan your Sunday
It’s been a lovely weekend so far and Sunday looks just as nice. Temperatures will get a little warmer on Sunday afternoon, likely breaking 80 degrees between downtown Spokane and Liberty Lake. Light east-northeast winds will show up again on Sunday to take the edge off the warmth. Most places will hit the upper 70s after starting the day in the upper 40s. Early risers won’t need a jacket for very long.
Spokane and Coeur d’Alene forecast
Temperatures will slowly rise to widespread low 80s by the middle of this week before some clouds swing by to knock down our high temperatures somewhat. The weather will be incredibly stable in the week ahead. With highs 8 to 12 degrees above normal we will still be waiting for fall to really start next weekend.
