Washington state work-related fatalities rise

The number of fatal work related injuries was 78 in 2016 for Washington. That’s an increase of eight deaths from 2105. Of the 78 fatal work injuries reported in Washington in 2016, 27 resulted from transportation incidents and 24 resulted from falls, slips, and trips. The private agriculture, forestry, fishing and hunting industry sector had 15 deaths. Transportation and material moving occupations had the highest number of fatal work injuries with 18.
