Washington State is bumped from AP Top 25 and Coaches Poll
Washington State has lost its AP Top 25 and Coaches poll ranking after Saturday’s shocking loss to UCLA. That snaps a 13-week streak of falling in the Top 25.
Previously occupying the no. 19 slot, the Cougars lost what was expected to be a blowout game against the unranked Bruins, at one point even maintaining a 32-point lead over them.
With their first loss of the season under their belt, the Cougars still have a lot in their arsenal. Their numbers from Saturday’s game were stellar, with 570 passing yards and a school-record nine touchdown throws, all an aspect of their indomitable offense. This early in the season, they have plenty of time to work out the kinks in their defense.
Washington State is now moving on to Salt Lake City to face the Utah Utes on September 28.
