Warm, sunny and very, very dry – Kris
I was weeding over the weekend and was struck by how DRY the ground is. I’ve been saying it on the news for weeks, but as the dirt turned to dust under my trowel, I could see first hand what the numbers have shown. There are hints of showers later this week, but no sign of the wetting rain that we really need. Today’s clouds did not provide any rain, and they will be clearing overnight. Expect mostly sunny skies for Tuesday with highs in the mid 60s. It will be calmer tomorrow, with just a gentle breeze.
A warming trend is in the forecast through the middle of the week. Temperatures will peak Thursday in the mid 70s, which is more than 10 degrees above average. A cold front will move through late Thursday night bringing breezing conditions a slight chance of rain to the valleys for Thursday night through Saturday. Temperatures will cool into the upper 50s through the start of the weekend. Right now, it looks like Mother’s Day will be dry. A good watering can will make a great Mother’s Day present this year!
