Video shows wanted felon attempting to steal car with children inside

MOSES LAKE, Wash. – Dashcam video shows the terrifying moment when a wanted felon attempted to carjack a Moses Lake mother. 

Salvador Harguideguy was wanted on four active felony warrants. Moses Lake Police spotted him on Ivy Street, but he ran away. He ran southbound to Western Avenue where he encountered a woman who had just put two kids into her car. 

The video shows Harguideguy attempting to steal the car with the children inside. It appears he forced his way into the driver’s seat and tried to drive away.

Officers arrived quickly and dove into the car, on top of Harguideguy to prevent him from driving away. 

While officers were fighting with Harguideguy, the woman and passersby pulled the children out of the car. 

Officers successfully got Harguideguy out of the car and into police custody. 

After being cleared at the hospital, he was booked into jail on existing warrants for second-degree assault, possession of a stolen firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm and second-degree burglary/theft of a firearm. He faces new charges of first-degree robbery, attempted motor vehicle theft and resisting arrest.
