Valentine’s Day procastinator? No problem!

Valentine’s Day procastinator? No problem!

Valentine’s Day is just hours away, but if you’re one of those people who may have forgotten to make that dinner reservation or pre-order the flowers, even those aren’t reasons enough to be able to find some great last-minute gifts for your loved one.

Clinkerdagger’s has had countless phone calls Friday asking for last minute reservations but, if you didn’t call at least two weeks ago, you can kiss that fine dining experience goodbye.

“I would say to get prime-time on Valentine’s Day you need to call at least a month in advance,” Debi Moon said.

If you haven’t gotten a gift or made plans at this point, it’s safe to assume you could take all the advice you can get, so when she says, ‘We don’t have to do anything tonight’ or ‘I don’t need a gift’ don’t listen to her.

But don’t sweat it as your sweetie isn’t going to kiss you goodbye just yet. If you forgot to make your reservation at Clinkerdagger’s have no fear there are some other options. For example, how about a nice candlelit dinner here at D Lish’s? For under $20 you can get a full meal – including homemade onion rings – as well as Valentine’s cookies and even a magician.

It’s not really white linen but we have paper over your table so you can draw with crayon on it,” owner Mike Lish explained.

Showing up to your date empty handed may not earn you many brownie points, so you probably need to bring a gift.

“People know that they can come in here no matter how late they are, I plan for them,” Rocket Market owner / florist Shanda Shephard said.

Rocket Market on the South Hill has unique bouquets ranging from $11.99 to $20 in addition to special made-to-order arrangements and, for a small fee, they’ll even deliver.

Diamonds are a girl’s best friend and Dottie’s Discount Jewelry has plenty of one-of-a-kind sparkle.

“We’ve got a full range of everything too from $20 pieces to $10,000 pieces,” Jeff Levitch with Dottie’s Discount Jewelry said.
