UPDATE: Snoqualmie Pass back open after morning closure
SNOQUALMIE, Wash. — UPDATE (10:45): The pass is now OPEN in both directions. Traction tires are advised.
WSDOT reports the roadway is bare and wet with slush in places, and it’s now raining.
Snoqualmie Pass on I-90 is closed in both directions for multiple crashes and spin outs. It is expected to remain closed until at least Tuesday afternoon.
The Dept. of Transportation reports there is compact snow, slush and ice on the roadway and it is snowing hard.
The eastbound lanes are closed at milepost 33, near North Bend. Westbound lanes are closed at milepost 106 near Ellensburg and Milepost 84 near CleElum.
DOT officials say it will be several hours before the pass is reopened. Alternate routes suggested are Stevens Pass (chains currently required) and White Pass (traction tires advised).
