UPDATE: Injured WSP trooper now home recovering
SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — UPDATE: The trooper who was injured Sunday night is now home recovering, according to WSP Trooper Jeff Sevingey.
Washington State Patrol confirms two troopers, who were responding to an earlier crash, were hit by a car on I-90 in Spokane Valley.
The crash happened on eastbound I-90 near Barker Road around 6:45 p.m. Sunday.
The trooper that was in the above vehicle sustained non life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital. The other trooper involved was outside of his vehicle when the accident occurred.
WSP closed eastbound I-90 to traffic near Barker Road. The highway “will be closed for several hours,” according to Trooper Jeff Sevigney.
