Update: Abused cat has died
UPDATE: We’re sorry to tell you that the abused cat Spokane County Regional Animal Protection Service, or SCRAPS, put out a plea for this morning has died.
The animal protection agency updated their Facebook page just moments ago to say, “We are devastated to have to report that our Angel boy has passed away. He was beating the odds, and we wanted so badly to see his body and soul mend. Our hearts are broken, but we are so grateful to each of you who have taken the time to read his story and bear witness to him– he was seen and loved.”
SCRAPS had earlier said the cat had been shot with pellets. He suffered a badly broken pelvis and a severe injury to his tail which caused a massive infection. On their original post the agency said, “A human intentionally broke his body and, devastatingly, also broke his spirit. Angel boy buries his head and avoids eye contact, though he remains the gentlest creature who easily accepts his medication and purrs when stroked.”
