Two people rescued near Long Bridge in Sandpoint
SANDPOINT, Idaho — Authorities released new details about what caused the Long Bridge in Sandpoint to temporarily close Friday night.
Firefighters rescued a man and woman about a quarter mile from shore, near the bridge, according to Selkirk Fire Rescue and EMS. A firefighter wearing a drysuit was lowered into the water to make the rescue, while a fire boat responded from City Beach.
Both people were taken to shore. First responders didn’t release details about why they were in the water or what their condition is.
