Two people self-rescued from Spokane River after inflatable overturns

SPOKANE, Wash. — Two people had to swim out of the Spokane River after their inflatable overturned.

Spokane Fire told 4 News Now that there were two individuals traveling down the river when their inflatable flipped over. Initial reports of the rescue were around 5:10 p.m. on Tuesday.

The inflatable got snagged on a piece of sonar equipment installed by contractors working for the city, and overturned.

Luckily, both individuals were able to swim to safety.
