Two deer stuck in irrigation canal rescued by Kennewick officers
KENNEWICK, Wash. — Two deer are now roaming free after being rescued from an irrigation canal.
On Sunday morning, Kennewick officers got a call about two deer stuck in a canal south of 20th Avenue. When they arrived, police were able to get one of the deer out on its own. The second one needed a little bit of help.
KPD called in a wildlife officer to assist. They were able to get a strap around the deer and pull it out of the canal.
Both deer took off and started running up Thompson Hill. We’re assuming they went to go meet back up with Thumper and Flower.
