Two dead, one injured after early morning Seattle shooting
SEATTLE — Three people were shot during an altercation underneath Seattle’s monorail tracks early Thursday morning, and two of the victims have been confirmed dead.
According to KOMO News in Seattle, Police and medics responded to the scene, at 5th Avenue and Battery Street, just before 12:30 a.m. after receiving reports of shots fired.
One victim, a man believed to be about 25 years old, was pronounced dead immediately.
After evaluating the two other victims, a man and a woman in their mid-20s, Seattle Fire Department medics confirmed the woman had died as well. The third victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition.
Police and witnesses said there was some kind of a fight between two large groups of people at the scene, then someone in one of the groups started shooting at the other. The suspects then fled on foot.
Seattle police are working on developing a suspect description.
