Two CDA athletes selected to go to Special Olympics USA Games
COEUR D’ALENE, ID. — Two Special Olympic athletes from Coeur D’Alene will be heading to Orlando, Florida, to compete in the 2022 Special Olympics USA Games.
Special Olympics Idaho announced that athlete Jake Kerr and his Unified Partner, Matthew Creighton, will be the two local athletes competing in June of 2022. Having trained together since June 2021, Kerr qualified for the Special Olympics Idaho’s state games.
The two will compete in Alternate Stroke Golf at the USA games. It will take place at Orange County National Golf Center. If Kerr and Creighton qualify, they will be invited to the Special Olympics World Games in 2023, hosted by Berlin, Germany.
Kerr and Creighton will have a sendoff at the Coeur D’Alene Resort main lobby on Wednesday, June 1.
