Two arrested after robbing coffee stand in Chelan County
CHELAN COUNTY, Wash. — Two people were arrested Tuesday afternoon after robbing a coffee stand near Coles Corner in Chelan County.
Around 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, a barista at the Little Red’s coffee stand near Coles Corner observed a suspicious male walk by the stand window. He walked to a tan GMC Yukon vehicle and noticed a driver in the call who appeared to be female.
The man – who was wearing a black bandana – knocked on the window, said he had a gun, and demanded money from the till. The barista gave him bills from the till totaling $150 to $200 and ran into the office to call 911.
After the call to 911 was made, a WSDOT employee reported seeing the reported vehicle driving westbound from Coles Corner. That vehicle was stopped just west of the Steven’s Pass Summit by a Chelan and King County deputies.
The female driver, a 25-year-old from Langley and the male passenger, a 29-year-old from Everett, were both taken into custody and booked for first degree robbery and third degree theft.
Clothing matchup the suspect description was found in the vehicle and $220 cash was found in a hiding spot.
