Turtle Rock Fire burning in Douglas County
WENATCHEE, Wash. — 150 fire crew members and six aircrafts are battling the Turtle Rock Fire in Douglas County, north of Wenatchee.
Wednesday morning, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said the fire is estimated at 200 acres. No structures have burned, but one home is under a level one evacuation notice.
Highway 2/97 has been re-opened, but the sheriff’s office is asking people to avoid the area for personal safety reasons and to reduce the impact to emergency responders in the area.
Crews from Douglas County Fire Districts 2, 4 and 5, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, the Department of Natural Resources and the Bureau of Land Management are all providing support.
