TROY, Idaho — The Troy School District is closing their schools as a precautionary measure against the coronavirus, preparing for a deep clean of the school buildings.

In a Facebook post, Superintendent Brad T. Malm explained that a Jackson High School student tested positive for coronavirus. This student was not around Troy School District students, but his school did compete with theirs at the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival last week at the University of Idaho.

“Although the risk is extremely low at this time, we are taking additional measures to provide extra disinfectant and will clean and sanitize all areas,” said Superintendent Malm, “We want to assure you that the safety of our students is always a priority.”
