Juvenile struck by car on I-90 in Post Falls, taken to the hospital

POST FALLS, Idaho –A juvenile was struck by a car and injured on I-90 near Post Falls Tuesday night.

A multiple vehicle crash closed westbound lanes temporarily, but the road has since reopened.

Idaho State Police officials said the juvenile was driving a Subaru Impreza and lost control of the vehicle, striking the jersey barrier on the right side near the Spokane street onramp.

The juvenile was outside of the Subaru when their vehicle was struck by a Jeep Grand Cherokee that was entering westbound I-90 from the Spokane street onramp.

The juvenile was then struck and thrown off the roadway.

A Ford Excursion was traveling westbound and swerved to avoid the crash, striking a delineator post. The Ford driver was wearing her seatbelt, but the Jeep driver was not.

The juvenile was taken to Kootenai Medical Center by ambulance.
