Traveling for Thanksgiving? Here are links to road reports for Washington, Idaho and Montana
People are getting ready or have already started to travel for the holidays.
This year, Thanksgiving will see a huge increase in the amount of people driving to visit others; More cars, means more traffic, means more delays. The weather may also play a part in delaying your travels this year.
Luckily, there are websites you can check before hitting the road or even during your journey to help mitigate some of the potential frustration.
Regional DOT websites can give you updates on road conditions and mountain passes.
The WSDOT website gives you access to cameras of I-90, Snoqualmie Pass, Stevens Pass and many more heavily traveled roads.
WSDOT’s Twitter is also a fantastic resource that is updated constantly with traffic and weather alerts.
Montana’s DOT Website is similar to Idaho’s camera map. It is a very interactive and detailed state map with cameras and road and weather conditions.
If this map is too detailed for you though, the site also offers Text Reports that can be found at the bottom of the control window on the left side of your screen.
You can also find real time updates and forecasts on the KXLY Weather App. Details can be found below.
