‘Touch a Truck’ gives kids the chance to sit behind the wheel and learn about different vehicles

If your child dreams of being a construction worker, a police officer, lawn mower or helicopter pilot, then you need to take them to the annual Touch a Truck event at Spokane Community College.

The event gives kids the chance to get up close to the professionals and the vehicles they use.

This year’s event will take place Saturday, September 21 in the parking lot of Spokane Community College from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Families can enjoy checking out vehicles without the sound of horns blasting or alarms going off until 1 p.m. From 1 p.m. to 2 p.m, kids are allowed to press buttons in the car and give horns a honk!

Admission to the event is $5 per person, or $20 for the whole family. Kids under 2 get in free.

Additionally, there will be food trucks and face painting. The first 300 kids will receive a free book.

Proceeds from the event will go toward the Junior League of Spokane’s mission and efforts to improve childhood literacy in the community.
