‘Tobacco 21’ will try again to raise age to buy tobacco products
The “Tobacco 21” Idaho Coalition announced it’ll try again to pass legislation that would raise the legal age to buy tobacco products, including e-cigs, from 18 to 21.
The group believes it would reduce tobacco use and protect kids from a lifetime of addiction and health risks.
While cigarette use has decreased among teens, e-cig use has increased significantly.
According to the coalition, nearly 20 percent of high school students in Idaho are using e-cigs or other tobacco products on a regular basis.
