Thunderstorms return Monday afternoon
SPOKANE, Wash.– What a wonderful Sunday it’s been! The good times, sadly, are not going to last beyond tonight. Rain and storms are back on Monday.
We will kick off Monday with some partly to mostly cloudy skies and temperatures in the 40s. We’ll see some sun around lunchtime and temperatures will quickly shoot up to the mid 60s. Then the storms arrive. Showers and storms will splatter rain and lightning across Eastern Washington and North Idaho from the mid-afternoon thorough the late evening. You might run into some rain and hear some thunder on your drive home. We’ll keep a chance of showers going through 11 p.m.
Our pattern dries out as high pressure takes over Tuesday, Wednesday and most of Thursday. We will finally see temperatures warm into the 70s in Spokane! We’ll have a shot at 70 on Wednesday, but the highest odds for 70-plus degrees will be Thursday afternoon.
Overall, the next week feels much more like typical spring. Too bad we had to wait all the way until late May to get it!
Rain comes back on Friday and so does cooler weather. It looks like Memorial Day weekend will be unsettled with a chance for scattered showers each day and highs only in the low 60s.
