The Grain Shed makes Food Network’s list of best bakeries
SPOKANE, Wash. — One of Spokane’s own is getting a national shout-out from the Food Network.
The Grain Shed, located in the South Perry District, was just named one of the best bread bakeries in America.
The Food Network mentioned the bakery’s focus on using locally grown and heritage grains, for both its bread and its beer.
The bakery opened in 2018 and specializes in loaves created in a wood-fired, custom built oven. The attached brewery also uses grain that is malted in the Spokane area.
“Speaking of beer, don’t miss the Wasted Loaf, which uses leftover bread ends to bolster the mash for a Kvass-style beer,” says Food Network’s Layla Khoury-Hanold.
The Grain Shed makes all of their products fresh daily and serves until it sells out.
