The Extreme Team: Partners with Families & Children
SPOKANE, Wash. — The Extreme Team has found its next project!
4 News Now put a call out for entries, asking our community: what organizations need the volunteer help and ingenuity of the Extreme Team?
The answer is clear – Partners with Families & Children, a local non-profit agency deserving of help!
In partnership with BECU, Mark Peterson, the Extreme Team and a whole heap of volunteers will be creating a serenity garden to help both the families and staff at the agency.
Partners with Families and Children prevents, interrupts and repairs cycles of abuse and neglect within families. They have been serving the Spokane community for 30 years and have seen over a 40 percent increase in demand for their services from the Children’s Advocacy Center in the past year alone.
The rise in family stress, addiction, and homelessness causes children to become our community’s most helpless victims. A new, larger building was recently purchased to bring more services under one roof, but landscaping and an inspirational garden area to meet therapists and groups was put on hold after other repairs took precedence. Through the Extreme Team, sponsors and donations, the garden will become a reality for children and families to go for healing and rejuvenation.
