Technical glitch delays unemployment claim payments for thousands of Idahoans

BOISE, Idaho — A technical glitch has caused thousands of unemployment insurance claim payments to be delayed.

The payments will be delayed by one day and according to the Idaho Department of Labor, should only impact payments being distributed this week.

Those expecting payments can view their information on the Claimant Portal to confirm your payment date.

Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, laid-off Idaho workers filed 131,101 initial claims for unemployment benefits — 2.2 times the total number of initial claims in all of 2019,

Initial claims reached 5,785 during the week ending May 29, which was a 23 percent decline from the previous week.
