Taylor and Dearfield have their sights set on Nike Nationals this weekend

SPOKANE, Wash. — Ellabelle Taylor and Anthony Dearfield have one last chance to shine on the track this season, and it’s on the biggest stage possible; at Hayward Field in Eugene at the Nike Outdoor Nationals.

Both Taylor and Dearfield were invited to join the elite field after posting qualifying times this year.

The two, along with sprint coach Khalil Winfrey are excited for the opportunity, not just to run against the country’s best, but also to help turn the perception of the Pirates athletic department around.

The Nike Outdoor Nationals is an out-of-pocket event, so Winfrey started a gofundme account to pay the way for the runners, and the community had their back, reaching their goal in just two days, but people are still giving.
