Tax day deadline fast approaching
SPOKANE, WASH. — April is here, and along with the showers and flowers– comes taxes.
Those who have not yet filed their taxes should know they are running short on time. April 17 is the deadline to file, and those who miss it will be penalized.
Experts say waiting too long to file taxes can lead to costly mistakes. While tax prep software or a tax preparer should flag simple errors, it is always a good idea to pay close attention.
Along with missing the deadline, people can be penalized for using the wrong filing status, or forgetting to report income.
Financial experts recommend being mindful of taxes all year long, instead of just once a season.
