A semi carrying numerous cars and trucks slid off Highway 195 near Colfax Wednesday morning and got stuck teetering over the edge above a canyon.  The driver got out safe. Smog check required for big trucks in California

In a move aimed at reducing air pollution, Gov. Gavin Newsom on Friday signed a law that for the first time will require most large trucks in California, including 18-wheel tractor trailers, to pass a regular smog check.

Woman walking on I-84 killed by semi-truck

WENDELL, Idaho (AP) - A woman died after she was struck by a semi on Interstate 84 near Wendell, Idaho.KTVB-TV reports the collision happened at 1:48 a.m. Thursday.Idaho State Police say 57-year-old Cynthia J. Mead of Idaho Falls was walking east in the right lane when she was hit.The driver of the semi, 60-year-old Robert Pierce of Reno, Nevada, could not see Mead on the highway because of a curve on the road.

Semi loses load on I-90, causing massive backup

According to Washington State Patrol, a semi hauling crushed cars was headed westbound on Interstate 90 on Wednesday when it swerved to avoid another car. Several of the crushed cars flew into the eastbound traffic and were hit by several oncoming vehicles, shutting down all lanes of eastbound traffic.
