Suspicious substance in RV at north Spokane Walmart deemed non hazardous

SPOKANE, Wash — Update (10:30 a.m. Friday): Walmart is open, but shoppers are asked to avoid the middle of the parking lot. The substance was tested and found it was not hazardous.

The North Division Walmart is closed and a number of Spokane Police officers are on the scene, investigating a possible explosive devise.
Early this morning, officers were looking into a possible stolen motorhome in the paking lot of the WalMart store in the 9200 block of North Colton. During the investigation officers arrested a man for unlawful possession of a firearm and developed probably cause for a search warrant of the vehicle.
While searching the motorhome SPD found more firearms, cash, drugs, possible counterfeit money and what appeared to be an explosive device.
Those officers immediately called the Explosive Disposal Unit.
The store is closed and police are requesting people stay out of the area.
