Suspects arrested and charged for allegedly beating Sandpoint woman
SPOKANE, Wash. — A woman was arrested and another girl charged with battery Tuesday for allegedly beating a Sandpoint girl in the head with what police believe was a baseball bat.
The Sandpoint Police Department responded to reports of the beating on Tuesday, July 2, when a young woman called to say she was assaulted by two girls at the City Beach.
Those two girls were later identified as 18-year-old Caitlyn Haskins and another 17-year-old girl. According to police, the victim said the younger girl punched her several times and Haskins struck her in the head with what appeared to be a bat.
After both suspects were interviewed by police, Haskins was arrested and booked into the Bonner County Jail. The 17-year-old girl was charged with battery and released.
